I read a comment that stated how all the "Herrman" side is supporting Doug&Val?Some of them maybe&I quess because we didnt get together much & its hard to imagine uncle Doug doing anything of this nature. This is things you read about & see on TV and think "Never in our family....My grandparents, his parents, are I am sure in Heaven shaking their heads.....We all came from a big catholic family (not to get church's involved or anything)& I "thought" we all were decent people. But if you think of BTK, how many people had him in their homes not knowing he was a "serial killer?" Therfore looks, what people tell us and how people act can be very decieving on how they behave behind closed doors. I have spoken to my cousin Crystal and their whole focus is on Adam; finding him if possible, finding answers and justice if something terrible happened to him. She never doubted her parents word in 99& never imagined it would be this. Its all sad....

Bambi, You are 100% right... KS's reality check has bounced!!!

Lets make SRS disappear and not @%^&* report it!!!

How many of you agree with me..read up!!! with as many kids that have been put in custody. the numbers are extremely high of children....abused,neglected,raped,molested,murdered and missing. All in states custody. not just the state of KS.. but all of them..DON'T YOU THINK THAT ITS BETTER THAT THE CHILDREN REMAIN IN THE HANDS OF A ISOLATED ABUSE CASE OF A BIO PARENT, POSSIBLY DUE TO STRESS OF THE PARENT...RATHER THAN IN THE HANDS OF STRANGERS THAT, STATISTICS SHOW DO THE VERY SAME THING. IF NOT WORSE..I think we as a community need an out cry to change the laws of SRS who continually fail children everywhere. Their mistakes are grave. Why can't they put the child back with the stressed parent and make them take a class of horrible stories like this one. AND PARENTING CLASSES. I would almost guarantee that the bio's extended family care enough to make a complaint of abuse. and if the abuse continues make them pay a very hefty fine...
Posted by: karletta on Jan 10, 2009 at 05:12 PM

and if the inevitable happens... THEN PROSECUTE THE BIO PARENT. TO THE FULLEST. AT LEAST THERE WILL BE ANSWERS!!! ALSO MAKE IT EASIER FOR THE ABUSED PARENTS TO SELECT THE ADOPTED PARENT FOR THEIR CHILD IF THEY WISH TO RELINQUISH THEIR RIGHTS... NO ONE LOVES A CHILD LIKE THEIR OWN PARENT!!

Not finding evidence is NOT proof that no evidence exists. The evidence of his disappearance with the fraud involved is pretty damning. The police will not give this investigation up so soon. Its just a shame they gave up so quickly back when reports were made 96 and 97.

Sure seems like it didn't take the police & SRS long to find the adoptive parents not guilty of any abuse. I do hope they are held accountable for the fact they kept the money. I don't appreciate people that abuse the system and hurt those that are in need of the help and can't get it. I am not one of them that needs the help but I know there are alot of people that could use it.

AND ALSO WHEN I WENT WITH THE PEOPLE THE MONEY THAT COMES INTO SRS WHERE'S THE CLEANING HELP AT. IT WAS A DIRTY MESSY PLACE.AND THEY WILL TAKE KIDS ON A DIRTY HOME. GO THERE AND STAY AND YOU WON'T GET YOU KIDS TAKEN (JP).

I think the Herrman's should pay back every dollar they received for the child from the day he came up missing, including tax money they received when they used him as a deduction. It was and is about MONEY and its time the MONEY is returned.

The problem isn't just SRS, their are so many different organizations and people involved in the protection of children. You have the EMCU, SRS, Judges, District or County Attorney's, Child Therapists, Foster Care Contract Workers, ect. All these people and organizations should be doing a better job to ensure children and families are being protected against violations of human and constitutional rights, it is time that the people of Kansas and all across America start screaming and keep screaming as to what is happening to American families all across this nation. Children are being raped, abused and even dying, Innocent parents are losing the right to raise their child/children. Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles are losing their rights to be a part of a child's life, these children who the states are abusing deserve to be raised with family and NOT WITH STRANGERS. Every state should be investigated criminally for kidnapping children and also for NOT protecting innocent children.

I have tried to get help from SRS when I was having a hard time and didn't have any food to feed my kids. Even though my income was approx. $11,000.00 for the year, I was told that I made too much money to recieve assistance. However, people that are making more than $40,000.00 a year were approved. Don't even tell people in this state that they are wrong to judge SRS the way they have been. I know other people that have tried to get help and were told that they didn't qualify, yet somebody driving a brand new Navigator walks out with over $500.00 a month in food stamps. Please explain this. Don't even get me started on the health issues that they won't help some people with, but will help others with.

Lets see an interview with the biological father, since it was reported that he did nothing to his children? Why was custody not given to the father? Or is this the same thing that people have been screaming for a long time. The families are passed over for foster adoption can anyone spell MONEY. Federal Money?

MagicGirl we all know who your "clan is" another capaign tatic used not to long ago amung these posts, that were either not posted due to fear of the truth or unwanted negative publicity for certain individuals that were and still are in a key public elected office (during the time of ADAM'S dissapearance) a office that promotes, enables, and allows people such as these INHUMANE, HEARTLESS, CRUEL entities to be state "Approved and deemed Qualified" to adopt children ? How much money is involved in this cover up ? Are the state public employees example lets say the Guardian Ad Litems contributing to the Funds of the elected officials yet are supposed to be looking out for the "Interest" of WHOMMMM ? You give someone enough rope they will in time eventually hang themselves !! And the entities that attempt to keep these situations quiet will be held accountable as they had first hand knowledge of many accounts and "Failed to protect" as well, A charge well defined in Kansas Juvenile Courts

Did we encounter a miracle ? SRS and authorities conducted a FULL INVESTIGATION and a conclusion in record time ? What was it within a week or two? Then WHY ON EARTH ARE families here being traumatically ripped from innocent, loving homes for so long, untill the "investigation" and compliance of rediculious, unjustified, needless demands, classes, evaluations, tests, home inspections that falsly accused parents must COMPLETE before the thought of reuniting with their children are placed in foster care for an average of 18 months in Kansas ? If the process can be fully "properly" investigated, unsubstantiated, reported, concluded, nationally, Department's official publically announced and released statements all in less then 30 days. This would lead us residents of Sedgwick County to believe all children should be returning home as SRS has obtained the proven accurate ability to promptly conclude all open cases and we should look forward to the NEW Timely process. YEAH RIGHT ! DREAM ON

Well since you want to bash SRS so bad next time you get down on your luck, have no food and no money why don't you go next door and see if they may help you feed your family. SRS employee's look like a bunch of x-crack heads well obviously you've needed their assistance then. Stop bashing a place that hands out millions of dollars to feed, and provide medical for our community.
