Overnight sleet covers roads this morning and leaves dangerous conditions for holiday travelers and last-minute shoppers.

Sedgwick County 911 dispatchers said they responded to about 25 accidents overnight and early this morning because of the slick roads.
Emergency crews continued to respond to accidents through the morning.

They said some of the iciest spots were on I-235, I-135 and K-96, which had sections closed at about 1 a.m. after a series of accidents near Mt. Hope.

The Kansas Highway Patrol responded to an accident on K-96 south of South Hutchinson at 7:47 a.m. A pickup truck hit a patch of ice, went across the median and in to oncoming traffic. Diana Beasley of Yoder and Clint Stout of South Hutchinson were injured in the accident.
