The former Wichita Club on north Market is open again, nearly 20 years after shutting its doors.
It's now called Gallery One-Nine and its got a view that's second to none.
"It's one of the most unique spaces in Wichita. On the 19th floor, it's got floor to ceiling windows, and a lot of the architecture elements have not been taken away," said Andy Shandlin.
Gallery One-Nine is now open for business. It will host private parties like wedding receptions and cocktail parties. One floor below is an art gallery.
It's just one of the many new businesses to call the Wichita executive center home. The downtown building is the former SC Telecom building.
It's undergoing a transformation, one of seven properties owned by the investment group Real Development.
"The perception of downtown when we got here was not one of momentum. We are trying to bring that, and we intend to bring that," said Michael Elzuton of Real Development.
This building at 125 North Market is big and the developers thought big when they made the plans to make it over.
"Because of it's heights and stature, is to bring something that says we are open for business in a big way, and if you dare to believe, I dare you to come down, because you are going to like what you see," Elzuton said.
The 7,000 square-foot lobby will be completed early next year to welcome tenants and visitors. The developers are keeping details of the final plans a secret, but they say the finished building will redefine the city's skyline.
The director of business for real development says they have signed more than 40,000 square feet of new tenants in just the last 60 days.
