A Boeing military plane with Wichita connections passes another milestone in its testing.
Monday Boeing announced a high energy laser was fired through the airborne laser's beam inside a 747 plane.
The test was done last week at Edwards Air Force Base in California.
Boeing Wichita employees worked on the modification of the A.B.L plane by installing two of the laser systems, adding chemical tanks, and reinforcing the plane's flooring.
The A.B.L's mission is to shoot down missiles in their launch stage with the plane's laser.
