South Hutchinson police are asking for the public's help to find a missing man. 40 year-old Shawn Burditt disappeared last Thursday night.
The Hutchinson man was visiting friends in South Hutch. He left to walk home and was last seen in the area of 6th and Elm heading towards the dike on the Arkansas River. Friends reported him missing on Friday. Shortly after, police started investigating.
"We started finding out who his friends were and stuff. Talking to them," said South Hutchinson Police Chief Scott Jones.
Police have been searching along the river on ATV's, from the air and they even sent divers in the water but Burditt hasn't turned up. They are running out of options.
"I've pretty much utilized all resources available to me as far as searching the river for three days now and have been unsuccessful on all three attempts. At this time I don't have any more resources I can think of available to me," said Jones.
That's why police are now turning to the public hoping to get a break.
We talked with Burditt's family who tells us they're especially worried because he has a medical condition.
While police won't say whether they suspect foul play they are treating this case as suspicious.
