A casino being built in Kansas may be a losing bet.
Harrah's pulled out of a deal to build a multi-million dollar destination casino in Sumner County Monday. In September Penn National Gaming withdrew its plans to build a state owned casino in southeast Kansas.
Wichita billionaire and casino owner Phil Ruffin said there is no way any casinos will be able to get financing in these troubled times.
"Kansas couldn't have chosen a worse time, because there is no financing. When they got the bid, you could normally go to the banks and finance the whole deal, now if you don't have the cash you don't have the deal," said Ruffin as he was getting ready to fly to Vegas from Wichita.
Ruffin says it could be years before Kansas sees a casino open unless the economy takes a major turn.
