Ruffin is right, there is no way any casinos will be able to get financing in these troubled times, and that includes the casino proposals from Wellington. Location is everything when you're building a destination casino. Wellington is to close to the Oklahoma casino's and to far from a major city like Wichita. If I was investing in a casino, I would choose the Mulvane location.

let the money stay here, actually I was refering to the Kandu game (at the APL), where you're shown the cards for a few seconds, then shown where the cut is - that is a real money game (it does cost you real dollars to sit down and play) and it is open all hours (if you know the "right" people). At those tables thousands of $ change hands every day - right here in the Air Cap.

I just want Slot Machines. I could care less about the Casino. I go to OK all the time. I would rather stay in Kansas, preferably close to Wichita.

Come on lets bail them out We need it Better than Aig. And wall street bail outs and Gmc Ford We can't do that because they are not honest crooks

The APL business (recently moved into the out Black Canyon Grill just south of 37th and Rock Road) is a great example of legal gambling. You can go and play for free and have a blast, or you can buy a seat at the table. You are techincally not playing with money as everyone pays the same price for a SEAT at the table. It is an absolute blast and a perfectly legal way to gamble. Rumor has it, if business says the way it has been they very well could be open 24/7!

I think he is right, but he wants slots. So got to consider the source whenever you read or hear anything in news.

To all the blue haired anti-casino pepole in this area. You may be interested to know that LEGAL gambling is going on right here in Wichita, every day and every night. Ever heard of the APL - they play poker, if your clueless. They have found a way to play a variation of Hold-em. Thousands (or more) of dollars move across those tables EVERY day. They just moved to the north end of town. Check it out if you don't believe me. So I say ha, ha, ha to the NO CASINO crowd, we already have it...lol...lol...lol...;-)

What about the casino that is to go in by Kansas Speedway? I wonder if that will happen. Sometimes, things are just not meant to be.

Awww well Joe arent you just the perfect person....well guess what there are obvisously more people who want a casino than not other wise it would have been voted out....so guess what......DEAL WITH IT

This is fantastic. There are enough vices and sin without a casino. There are enough places to throw money away. They don't build casinos off of gamblers' winnings. They build them off of the house's edge.

Thank our state lottery commission for this one! Them and all the back door shenanigans in Mulvane. They were all so corrupt they've screwed everyone out of it! Now they'll continue to raise state taxes to cover what the casino would have generated because they've already started to spend that money even though it wasn't there yet! They would've already started building in Wellington if it hadn't been for them trying to line their own pockets!!!
