A person with a cell phone helps Wichita police catch a suspected bank robber.

The robbery happened just after noon at the Commerce Bank at Harry and Woodlawn.

Police say a man robbed the bank, then left in a car. A person who saw the robbery followed him, and used a cell phone to call police and tell them where the suspect was going.

Officers say they were able to find and stop the car, thanks to the person who called.

Wichita police Sgt. Walker Andrews says, "Cell phones are a great thing especially for the police department. You see something, you have a phone, you need to call us. But be careful don't get yourself too involved that you get yourself hurt. "

The robber told a bank teller he had a bomb, but police didn't find any explosives.
