The Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission delays a decision on whether to revoke the state licenses of three closed race tracks.

The commission said Friday it would issue its ruling within 30 days and asked attorneys for the tracks to submit briefs on various legal points within two weeks.

At issue is the fate of Wichita Greyhound Park in Sedgwick County, Camptown Greyhound Park in Frontenac and the Woodlands horse and dog tracks in Kansas City, KS.

Woodlands owner Howard Grace urged postponing any action until
after the 2009 Legislature to try to get legislators to rework the law allowing slot machines at the tracks.

The law leaves the tracks with no more than 40 percent of revenues from the slots. Owners contend that's not enough.
