Around 2:30 Sunday morning, Reno County authorities received a report of a rollover accident.

Upon arrival on the scene, authorities found a 2002 Chevy Camaro on its roof. Reno County Sheriff Randy Henderson says it appears the vehicle was traveling southwest on K-61 when it hit an embankment on S. Langdon Road. The car then went airborne, struck a power pole, and landed on its roof.

The driver, 40-year-old Michael Oriordan of Turon, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing his seat belt.

Power outages were reported in Turon coinciding with the accident. The outage was caused by the collision of the car with the utility pole.
The town of Turon was without power for about two hours. The town of Langdon was still without power this morning.
