Administrators say a football coach's use of profanity in front of his team was handled appropriately months ago.

Parents and current and former athletes filled a Hutchinson school board meeting this week to discuss Randy Dreiling's minute-long tirade in June in which he used the F-word 16 times. Someone recorded the outburst and sent the recording to newspapers in the state, including The Hutchinson News.

The administration has released few details, and some have questioned whether he's being given preferential treatment.

Dreiling has won four Class 6A football championships.

Resident Chuck Sandkey told the board on Monday that a teacher wouldn't get away with those actions.

Those who spoke in support of Dreiling focused on the positive impact he's had on countless youth.
