My prayers go out to everyone in the family, including the young man. What a blessing that everyone is safe and a great blessing for those that are helping the family out. God Bless You!

i have gone to church with this family since i was a little baby. i can't believe this would have happened to these sweet people. i have know the man who set the fire and i can't say i am suprised that he did this, i hope he prays daily for forgiveness from both his grandparents and god. they lost everything cause of him, they raised him since he was little and he did this i am still in shock. his grandparents are the sweetest people i have know. may god be with them and with there grandson as he gets what he deserves

Instead of condemning the young man for setting fire to his parents house we should be praying for him and his family. God will forgive him and so will his family and friends.

Clearly this was a desperate cry for attention. This young man is in need of some serious help. Praise be to God that no one was hurt. Pray for the family as they must not only put back together the physical pieces of their lives that were lost, but the emotional toll is beyond comprehension for those that have not gone through it. God has poured out his love already through the gifts and assistance of First Baptist Church Mulvane members.

What is it with volunteer firemen being arsonists? It happens with some frequency all over the nation (and world?). I don't know how volunteers are screened, but somewhere during their training they need some psychological testing to pick up on their "quirk", for lack of a better word. I am in no way saying that ALL volunteer firemen are arsonists, but this phenomenen has been around for ages.

And I thought he was my friend. God, I pray you work in this man's heart. I pray that you teach him the error of his ways. God, help him, and please help the Mulvane Fire Department recover from this.

I live close to this house, and watched it fire. I can not believe that this kid stood there and cried because his house was burning and watched it. I also find it very sicking that he stood and prayed with his grandfather, and minister after it all happend. Not only did you distroy your grandparents home, you took away everything that they worked for long and hard, as well as the houses around theirs. If you were my kid I would never forgive you. I hope when he was praying, he asked god to protect his skinny butt from all of the prisioners when he drops the soap!

Way to go! You destroyed your grandparents home and everything they worked for. You also destroyed your life because you'll probably be going to prison for a little while and the only job you'll be able to get is on road construction. You've also cost everyone who pays homeowners insurance money because of little pyro's like you. Now we got to pay your room and board for you to sit in prison for a few years!
