At Friday's market close unleaded gasoline on the wholesale futures market traded at $1.8575 or rounding up $1.86 a gallon. If you add the combined state and federal taxes of $.38 a gallon in Kansas and a nickel transportation cost and a nickel or dime of profit which is generous per gallon and the price at the pump could be under $2.40 a gallon. But it's no reason for people to forget what it was a couple months ago. Remember it's going down because the market is predicting a rough economy ahead. When there are signs of an improving economy that oil and gasoline price will shoot right back up again and further unless we take care of business and start searching for and drilling for the oil we'll need seven to ten years from now. And sure go ahead and look for alternatives while you're at it. But don't forget those of you who think hybrids are the future... That electricity has to be generated from some source of energy. Wind energy is fine when it's blowing. You can't store it.
