A Medicine Lodge man is dead from injuries suffered when his motorcycle collided with a deer.

The accident happened Sunday afternoon on Pratt County Road 100, one mile north of U.S. Highway 54.

Kansas Highway Patrol troopers said a motorcycle driven by Rodger House was southbound when a deer came out of the ditch. House couldn't avoid striking the deer, and the bike slid on its side.

The 60-year-old House was flown to a Wichita medical center where he died hours later.
