Andover Teen Dies In Butler County Crash

A 16-year-old Andover girl has died following an accident in Butler County. The crash happened around 2:45 p.m. at Kansas Highway 254 and Butler Road.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says a Dodge van, driven by Janel Balmer, was turning onto Highway 254 from northbound Butler Road, failed to yield at a stop sign, and was broadsided by another van.

Balmer was partially ejected. She was taken to St. Francis in Wichita, where she was pronounced dead a short time later.

A man and woman in the other van, Herbert Bahm, 87, and Zelma Bahm, 83, were taken to St. Francis in serious condition.

A woman is in critical condition following an accident in Butler County. The crash happened around 2:45 p.m. at Highway 254 and Butler Road.

Authorities say an 18-year-old woman was turning onto Highway 254 from northbound Butler Road and was struck by another motorist.

The woman was partially ejected and was taken to an area hospital in critical condition. Two occupants in the other vehicle were also taken to a hospital for treatment. Their conditions are not known.

The accident is under investigation. No names have been released.
