Wichita To Hold Drive-Thru Flu Shot Clinic

The Sedgwick County Health Department will offer flu shots
via a Drive Through Flu Clinic on Saturday, October 4, 9 a.m. - noon at the Clinical Services Location, 2716 W. Central.

The Drive Through Clinic is open to all Sedgwick
County citizens. Although all individuals are encouraged to be vaccinated for the seasonal flu, those who fall within the "high risk" group should be vaccinated as soon as possible.

The Drive Through Clinic offers a convenient opportunity for high risk
individuals to take care of this annual need. High risk individuals include:

Children ages six - 59 months

Pregnant women

Adults ages 50 and older

Persons living in nursing homes, chronic care facilities, or dormitories

Persons of any age with certain chronic medical conditions -such as heart or lung disease, asthma, diabetes, kidney disorders, blood disorders, weakened immunesystems or conditions that can weaken the respiratory system

Health care workers

Those who have frequent contact with persons at high risk

Medicare, Medicaid, Cash or Check will be the accepted forms of payment at this clinic.

The price for flu shots offered through the Health Department are $30.00 for persons of nine years of age and older, $15.00 for persons six months to eight years of age. Flu vaccine is available for uninsured children who meet eligibility requirements.
