Heard Sunday Stage 5 was setting up at the lake. Carp Camp, Front Porch, Fiddle Fest @ Pickers Point are relocated in Oxford, KS park, but it was filling up very fast now the word has gotten out. Many of us "seasoned" WVF particpants says it reminds us of the early festivals from 30 years past. Small & more laid back. Music still going on & the spirit of the festival has shed its' rain gear & slipped into dry shoes & sipping a tall cold one. Play on!!!!

Does anyone know where stage 5 will be located?

We set up Sunday at the Livestock Auction grounds west of town with friends who had migrated from the Pecan Grove. The grounds are 2-3 acres of open, mowed grass--high, dry, and comfortable. Cruised through some of the campgrounds at City Lake--it's way out from town but I suspect will be a festival in its own right as there are lots of people out there. The festival will no doubt be different, and one of the primary problems will be shuttling in and out as there will likely be very little parking. However, I have a lot of confidence in the organizers and workers who are determined to make it an enjoyable festival. Tuesday morning will essentially be another land rush, not be festival goers, but by the festival staff cleaning things up.

we made it out in the nick of time. the evacuation was very sad and we did not want to go. 1st time in my 20 years of attending i have ever seen such a devistation in our home away from home.We the Caution Camp (in front of stage 5) will return next year and will have stories to tell forever.

thanx we try'in to hang. the walnut should crest at 32.4 ft at 1:00 p.m. today according to noaa. that will put like 3 ft of water in stage one area. i talked to wva hands last night at 8:00 and it was a race aginst river to tear down and out. i was born, raised, and went south in winfield. it's gonna be a mess, but come hell or high water- even on floaties i believe we shall indeed carry on !!!!!!

I better pack my floaties and air mattress, not to sleep on but to float on to go there. I might need 'em. HEE YAW.

As one of the campers who was there the traffic flow was orderly and relaxed until the WPD started making everyone exit thru the west 14th exit even if you wanted to go east; as soon as they got involved there was a line a mile long they should work in New Orleans during a hurricane; it couldn't have been a bigger fiasco; they may have been following orders but whoever dreamed up the traffic flow wasn't thinking; they took no problem and made it a huge MESS; they told all campers that areas to the east were available and then routed them west to get there; government intelligence strikes again
