The Kansas Lottery Gaming Facility Review Board is hearing from the four applicants vying to operate a state-owned casino in Wyandotte County.

The board expects to spend Wednesday hearing presentations from the applicants and asking them questions. On Tuesday, it considered the two applicants for a Ford County casino. The board decides Sept. 18-19 who gets the contracts for those two counties.

Last month, the board picked Harrah's Entertainment Inc. to manage the Sumner County casino, and Penn National Gaming Inc. to run the one in Cherokee County. Both decisions are subject to a background check and approval by the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission.

A 2007 law allows four state-owned casinos to be managed by companies under a 15-year contract.
