Hurricane Gustav has weakened a bit as it
moves northwest along the Louisiana coast. But it's still a
Category-2 hurricane, with winds of 105 miles-per-hour.

A hurricane warning remains in effect from just east of High
Island, Texas, to the Mississippi-Alabama border.

At 1 p.m., Eastern time, the center of the storm was just
outside Morgan City, Louisiana. It's expected to continue moving
along the south-central Louisiana coast this afternoon, then into
western Louisiana tonight and eastern Texas tomorrow.

A storm surge of 10 to 14 feet above normal tidal levels is
predicted near the center of the storm and to its east.

Gustav is also expected to dump 6 to 12 inches of rain on parts
of Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas and Texas. Forecasters say a
few areas could get up to 20 inches by Thursday.

Tornadoes are another possibility along the central Gulf Coast
today.

Gustav slammed into the Louisiana coast west of New Orleans this
morning with winds of 110 miles-per-hour.
