Hawker Beechcraft machinists have just approved a second contract offer by 77%. They could return to work as early as Tuesday.

There are a lot of mixed feelings among Hawker Beechcraft machinists as they prepare to vote on a new contract proposal, but many agree all eyes are on them. That's because this vote will not only impact their future, but could impact the way other aircraft companies handle their upcoming contracts.

"There were some important, substantial improvements," said Bob Wood, a spokesman for the Machinists Union.

The new contract proposal would freeze health care premiums for 3 years, increase pension benefits by $7 per month, per every year of service.

The vote is taking place at the Kansas Coliseum. Doors opened at 9 a.m. and voting will last until 2 p.m. Stay with KAKE for continuing coverage.
