James, I have an m16 bar on my expert marksman badge, so I know about m16's. the news and even the history channel call m-16's ar15's these days. personally, I am not impressed with the "mattie matel special" I prefer the m-14.

Ar15's are the civilian version; M16's are the full auto military issue

James, the department of defense released a whole lot of fully automatic surplus ar15's to local law enforcement thru homeland security. the wpd has carried mp5's in sergents cars for several years. I know the difference between semi and full auto.

I seriously doubt that they had an automatic rifle; that would be a machine gun ; it would be a semi-auto; all the anti-gunners like to dramatize everything to further their agenda; facts are not important to them

That was a ballsy thing to do!
