Administrators of the Kansas Aviation Museum have asked the City of Wichita for $500,000 improvements. The request came at a City Council workshop today.

The museum is asking for;

  • $230,000 in access improvements under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

  • $150,000 in electrical improvements.

  • $120,000 in heating and air improvements.

    Museum administrator Lon Smith told Council members the museum could make more money renting its space for special events if the improvements are made.

    Smith requested that the money come from the city's capital improvement budget. The council took no action on the request.
