A Western Kansas man was killed in an accident, and investigators say a deer played a role in the crash.
Highway Patrol Troopers said 46-year-old Ivan Ediger of Meade was killed when his pickup truck rolled on U.S. Highway 160, near the Meade-Seward County line early Wednesday.
Troopers said an eastbound SUV struck a deer, became inoperable and came to rest in the westbound lanes of the highway. Ediger's truck struck the SUV, entered the ditch and rolled.
The SUV driver, Mireya Martinez of Moscow, was injured and taken to Southwest Medical Center.
