Kansas POW Patrick Miller grew up in Valley Center. The city is now taking on a new look. Yellow ribbons are being tied around trees up and down Meridian Avenue for several blocks through Valley Center. Friends of the POW and those who don't know him say tying the yellow ribbons is a way of expressing their support for Miller and his family. Folks in Valley Center are also showing their support through prayer.

Monday night a special service was held at the 1st United Methodist Church in Valley Center. The church filled with those who know Miller and those who don't, but share a common bond and want to add their support. Bobby Massey is the pastor of Valley Center Assembly of God. He says "our hope is that he would know that we're doing this. It's good for us because it allows us to unite our hearts and put aside a lot of petty things and realize life is a lot more than what we view as important."

Close friends of Miller's say he would love seeing this service knowing people care about his situation and about his family.
