Democratic candidate Jim Slattery is releasing
the first television ads in his campaign for the U.S. Senate.
The former congressman from Topeka will air two ads starting
Tuesday in TV markets across the state, including Kansas City,
Topeka, Wichita.
In one ad, Slattery says incumbent Republican Sen. Pat Roberts
has been in Washington since astronaut Neil Armstrong landed on the
moon. He says it's time for new leadership.
A second ad focuses on younger voters and Slattery's push for
change in Washington.
Roberts has been airing ads around the state for weeks and has a
major advantage in campaign money.
