Police are investigating a West Wichita bar fight that left one man in the hospital. The fight was reported at Hoots Bar near Douglas and West Street Saturday night.

Paramedics were first called to the scene around 9:30 p.m. after getting the report of a man who had collapsed inside the business. When firefighters got to the scene, they reported that the man was not breathing and began CPR.

Dispatchers say it was first thought that the man was suffering from some sort of medical condition, but patrons of the bar later told the firefighters that the man had been in a fight earlier in the evening. That's when firefighters called for police to respond to the scene.

Lieutenant Mike Hennessy says one man has been placed under arrest for the altercation until details can be sorted out. At last check, the victim was reported to be in potentially serious condition. Paramedics reported that he had no evidence of trauma to his body.

What an awful thing to say considering you don't know the hole story! He was trying to break up a fight, not start one! The guy in jail is getting what he deserves and I think that is an awful thing as well! All over something stupid they ruin their life! My prayers are for all involved, God still loves all of them and can turn their lives around if they'll just ask!

I am a memeber of the family that is hurt by this terrible incident. We are all very hurt and saden by this terrible outburst. And for the one who wrote the rude remark just a thought. you should know that these were bar bullies whom attacked my uncle for trying to get them to leave a friend alone...is that just cause to attack someone in this manner. I hope that you never have to feel the heartache that our family is feeling .

you all need to rethink this it could of been anyone in that bar. or look someelse got shot just sitting at a stop light if people would just look at the hole picture maybe some of the violence would go away. ITs people that post stupid responses that cause the anger to build.

Yes, you can have your own opinion but also have some tact about using it! Is it really life or death that the moron posted that rude comment? He/she could have just read the story and moved on. Having the right to your own opinion is not a license to be an idiot. Thats where a lot of us Americans fail. They abuse their freedom and hurt other people along the way.

EACH PERSON CAN HAVE THEIR OWN OPINION. WE ALSO HAVE OUR RIGHTS TO EXPRESSING THEM. SO PLEASE CALM DOWN AND TAKE A DEEP BREATH. THESE DISPLAYED RESPONSES IS WHY THERE IS SO MUCH VIOLENCE IN THE CRAP OF A TOWN ANYWAYS.

This person's family could be reading this article you jerk! Did you type all that in there then walk away feeling good about yourself? Seriously? Its amazing how dark and soulless peoples personalities are when they can post behind the word "Anonymous". You are probably sitting at your computer right now watching videos of animals being tortured aren't you? Find some help, IDIOT! AND STOP POSTING ANYWHERE ON THE INTERNET! NO ONE CARES ABOUT WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY!
