A local man is recovering after being injured in a car crash. Police said his condition could have been much worse if not for the quick thinking of nearby witnesses. But the man could go from the hospital to jail.
The accident happened around 4:30 p.m. on Willow-esque in West Wichita. Police said the driver lost control of his SUV. The driver was ejected and the vehicle landed on top of him.
People who saw the crash were able to get the SUV back on its wheels, freeing the man.
The accident victim was initially reported in critical condition. His condition had improved by the time an EMS crew took him to the hospital.
A nearby resident tells KAKE News the car was stolen from a family member's driveway on Summitlawn. Police are investigating the crash as a possible stolen vehicle case.
