Wittig can get Westar to pay for his legal fees, but my husband and I had to hire two attorneys and pay out of our own pockets because Westar was trying to take some of our land. We did absolutely nothing wrong, but the law does not protect the homeowner or landowner from Westar. Apparently it only protects you if you are a criminal! We were told we could not ask for Westar to even pay our legal fees when they sued us to take our land for their new super line going to Salina. There are so many things wrong with our government!
