WICHITA, Kan. -- Two people were hospitalized after being beaten with a baseball bat during a robbery at a south Wichita home.

It happened around 8:20 Wednesday night in the 1400 block of South Emporia.

Police say someone knocked on the door, and when a 24-year-old went to answer it, three men forced their way in. The occupant was then beaten with the bat and kicked.

A 22-year-old woman woke up and went to see what was happening, then was hit in the head with the bat twice.

A friend of the man and woman showed up at the house, and one of the suspects pointed a gun at him while the others took thousands of dollars worth of electronics. The men then loaded the stolen items into the back of a black Ford pickup and left.

The man was treated at a local hospital for a broken elbow and broken fingers. The woman was treated for cuts to her head.

The suspects were described as white males with thin builds, all wearing black hoodies with dark bandanas. One was described as approximately six-feet tall. The other two were between five-feet six-inches and six-feet tall.

It's unclear if this attack is related to a similar crime earlier in the week. Read more on that by clicking here.
