WICHITA, Kan. -- Police catch a pair of liquor thieves after they burglarized a west Wichita liquor store twice in one night.
The front of the store is boarded up and business is back to normal but when Central Avenue Liquor employee Richard Lundin was called out to the store early Sunday morning, he says police were in the parking lot and two men were already in jail.
"It was kind of one of those bad news, good news things because the store had been broken into but they had already apprehended the people,” Lundin said.
At that time, it was around 3:30 AM. Lundin says they started looking through security video and saw a group of 4 guys break in but that was recorded just before midnight. Lundin says three hours later into the video, two of the guys came back.
"We saw people come walking through the big gaping hole and then they went through and grabbed different items,” Lundin said.
That's about the time a driver passed the store on west Central Avenue, saw the two men climbing back out of the broken window, and called police.
Police tell us they found two men, 18 and 19 years old. They say both men were carrying liquor bottles from the store.
Those two men were arrested on burglary and theft charges and thanks to the store's video, police know they're still searching for two more liquor thieves.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
