Two Kansas men have been arrested, accused of stealing a motor home.

Just after 1 a.m. Monday, a Barton County sheriff's deputy spotted a motor home parked on 50 Road near Southeast 100 Avenue, a few miles south of Ellinwood. It was missing a license plate and was partially in the roadway.

The deputy began speaking with two men who were inside. They gave the officer false names and couldn't produce registration or insurance on the motor home.

It was soon discovered that the motor home had recently been stolen from Hutchinson, and the two men were taken into custody.

The suspects have been identified as 51-year-old William R. Patterson of Chase and 36-year-old John Patrick Lynch of Great Bend. Both are facing charges of possession of stolen property and obstruction of official duty. Lynch also had four other outstanding warrants.
