Douglas County prosecutors want to try a 16-year-old suspect in a double homicide as an adult.
Prosecutors have filed a motion seeking to have Kellam D. Jones tried as an adult in the shooting deaths last weekend of 20-year-old Roland Klundt and 18-year-old Gage Hauk, of McLouth.
Jones has been charged as a juvenile with two counts of felony first-degree murder and one count of attempted aggravated robbery.
Prosecutors allege Hauk and Jones went to Klundt's Lawrence home to commit a robbery. Hauk was shot by Klundt, and Jones then shot Klundt, prosecutors said.
A hearing on the motion will be held June 23rd, which was when Jones was scheduled to be tried as a juvenile.
