A McPherson mother has been charged in connection with leaving her baby in a trash dumpster.
Prosecutors charged 18-year-old Diedre Harman with Child Abandonment and Aggravated Child Endangerment. Both charges are felonies.
McPherson Police say Harman called 911 last week and reported her 6-week-old daughter had been kidnapped from her home. Three hours later, officers found the baby unharmed in a backyard dumpster a couple of blocks from Harman's home.
The baby was taken to a hospital for evaluation, then released into SRS custody.
