A Butler County jury today found a Great Bend man guilty of first-degree murder, for shooting his son-in-law to death last year at an Augusta Wal-Mart.
Bobby Bruce White was charged with the March death of Aaron Ruboyianes. The 24-year-old was shot three times as he worked in the electronics department of the discount store.
White was arrested moments after the shooting. Police said the 50-year-old central Kansas man was upset over losing custody of his grandson.
Jury deliberations began Tuesday afternoon and ended late Wednesday morning.
Sentencing is set for March 13. Prosecutors are expected to ask for the Hard 50 sentence, Fifty years in prison without parole.
