The man convicted of killing women and stuffing some of his victims in steel barrels was handed the death penalty.
He is 59-year-old John Robinson Senior of Olathe, found guilty last October on two counts of capital murder and one count of first-degree murder. He faces similar charges in Missouri.
The Johnson County jury recommended in November that Robinson die by lethal injection, and District Judge John Anderson formally sentenced him Tuesday morning. That came after Anderson rejected several post-conviction motions filed by the defense.
Some of the victims and alleged victims of the suburban Kansas City man who used the Internet nickname "slavemaster" were found in steel barrels, in June 2000.
Robinson becomes the seventh man sentenced to die in Kansas by lethal injection.
