Mr. Powers was a great man and teacher. He had his own sense of style. He made sure we never gave up. There is a special place in heaven awaiting him and his suspenders. He will truly be missed by many. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
I remember walking the halls in Mulvane and always seeing Mr. Powers with a smile on his face. I have (since growing up) watched him work his magic in our Government, fighting for our schools and their children. My most sincere thoughts and prayers go out to his family and Godspeed to a great teacher, representative, and man.
Mr. Powers is a wonderfully gifted man. I was blessed enough to have his guidance in the music program in Mulvane. He encouraged me to be the best and showed us the fundamentals of music. I went on to participate in the Wichita Youth Symphony, Shriner's All State Marching Band, and received scholarships for music performance in college. All in thanks to this man and his family who believed in me. Godspeed Dear Friend. You will always be a Great Man I look up to!
