Stunned tornado survivors are picking up the little that's left of their homes after storms smashed through the Plains and South this weekend, killing at least 22 people in three states.

At least 15 people died in southwestern Missouri. In the fading mining town of Picher (PIH'-chur), Oklahoma, at least six people were killed. At least one person died in storms in Georgia.

In North Carolina, an official says several mobile homes were destroyed today by high winds after a tornado warning was issued.
No word yet on injuries, or how many homes were hit.

The White House says President Bush has talked with governors to
express his condolences for the lives lost and to discuss the states' needs for recovery.
