Wichita storm chaser Jim Reed and his intern Robin Lorenson followed Thursday’s Greeley County tornado for 20 minutes.

The tornado dropped out of the sky right in front of Reed and soon began heading in his direction. As Reed and Lorenson backed down a dirt road, the tornado followed. Suddenly, the tornado stopped.

That’s when Reed got out of the car and ran directly toward it.

Reed called it his “golden opportunity” to get the shot he’s been wanting for years.

He described the sound of the tornado, not like a train coming, but like the sound of jet engines.

Jim's remarkable footage was featured on "Good Morning America" this morning. To see more of his work, click on the links below.

I used to live in Kansas and my sister still lives in Wichita...I would rather have tornados than earthquakes ANY day even if they are scarey!

Maybe you shouldn't move to Wichita if you think you can stop tornados.

Awesome video. But really, somebody needs to do something about these things. Somebody once said, "Everyone talks about the weather, but nobody does anything about it." I'm moving to Wichita in mid June. Some one needs to find a way to stop them.
