As one Kansas town continues it's struggle to recover from a deadly tornado, another community knows all too well what it's like.
On May 3rd, 1999, an F-4 monster tornado wiped out the heart of the city of Haysville, south of Wichita. The tornado developed in the rural area south of the town and moved through the center of the business district.
The storm left a swath of damage from Haysville to South Wichita and killed six people.
In all, a deadly day of stormy weather left 49 people dead in Kansas and Oklahoma.
