A volunteer firefighter from Saline County has been arrested and accused of starting several grassfires.
Authorities believe 18-year-old Michael Russell of Gypsum set three fires and possibly more.
Investigators want to know if Russell set a fire that burned three square miles near the Maxwell Wildlife Refuge Tuesday. Russell responded to each fire in question.
The Saline County Sheriff says one of the fires got dangerously close to Southeast of Saline High School before firefighters got it under control.
