The Senate approves a 13.4 billion dollar
budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1st.

It's less generous than the budget proposed by Governor
Sebelius. It leaves major issues about spending on higher education
and social services unresolved.

The Senate's spending plan is similar in size to one approved
last week in the House, but the two chambers disagree over numerous
small issues. They'll negotiate over a final version.

But whatever negotiators draft still won't be the last word.

Legislators will consider another spending bill wrapping up
budget issues before they adjourn their session in early May.

The Senate's proposed budget was contained in three bills, and
the biggest measure passed, 26-to-14.

I`m not surprised that this budget is alot less generous that what was proposed by the governor, because if you take a close look at what`s been important to our greedy Senators,it sure is`nt what`s really important, like protecting our children`s future,or using cleaner energy,it`s about lining their own pockets!
