Wink Hartman broke ground on the Hartman Arena Tuesday afternoon near Park City.

The arena will be home to the Wichita Wild Football Team and it will be open to concerts, family shows and sporting events. It will be able to seat 5,000 for sporting events and 7,000 for other events.

Hartman says the arena will be a perfect fit for Wichita. "What we're looking for is that middle market, 3, 4, 5000 seats. There's quite a gap between what we do and what the Downtown Wichita Arena is going to do," says Hartman.

The Hartman Arena will open in April of 2009 near I-135 and 77th Street North.
