Wichita police are trying to piece together the events that lead to the death of an unidentified man found in east Wichita.
A group of children found the body Saturday morning alongside the railroad tracks near Murdock between Grove and Poplar. There was also a weapon found at the scene.
Investigators have not yet identified the man. They have not released the cause of death but are calling it a homicide. They say the man was at least 40-years-old and was probably killed early Saturday morning.
Wichita Police Captain Nelson Mosley says investigators are trying to find out who killed the man and how it happened. He says they are searching the area and interviewing people.
