Step-Mom Charged In Death of Toddler
27 year-old Katie Cornejo/Robertson is charged with 1st degree murder in connection with the death of her infant step-daughter Daytona.

A Wichita woman has now been formally charged with 1st degree murder in connection with the death of her step-daughter.

27 year-old Katie Cornejo-Robertson is accused of killing 2 year-old Daytona Robertson. Robertson died Wednesday, days after being treated for head injuries. Doctors at Wesley Medical Center discovered the injuries.

"I don't know what led up to the injuries, but i do know that according the step-mother the little girl began having seizures and that is when EMS was summoned, " said Wichita Police Capt. Randy Landen

A memorial fund has been established for Daytona Robertson. Donations can be sent to:

  • Daytona Robertson Fund
    Chisholm Trail State Bank
    Bel Aire or Park City

    The family had the little girl's organs donated.
