A shooting shut down the intersection of Oliver and Mt. Vernon in southeast Wichita Friday evening. The shooting was reported at about 8:35 p.m.

Officers on scene said an argument started between occupants of two vehicles, a car and a truck, at the intersection. Several shots were fired out of one vehicle at the other.

"We happened to have an officer right at the intersection when it happened. Right now, we have two male victims in their 20's that were hit," Wichita Police Lt. Jose Salcido.

The officer on scene stayed to help the victims rather than chasing the suspect vehicle. One man suffered two gunshots wounds to the buttock region, and the other was hit multiple times in the leg. One victim ventured to a nearby gas station for help.

Salcido says, "He actually went to the gas station...sought assistance; they helped him out until we got here."

Both were reported in critical condition.

But police are looking for a flatbed truck, possibly white with a towing company logo on the door. No arrests have been made.

No other information has been released. Updates will be provided as soon as they become available.
