Wichita Police Search For Stabbing Suspect

Wichita police are searching for a suspect after a weekend stabbing.

It happened in the 1500 block of North Pershing around 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

Police said a 24-year-old woman returned to her boyfriend's house to pick up her purse and other belongings, when the man started questioning her.

The victim told police her boyfriend grabbed a knife, stabbing her three times in the stomach.

She was taken by a private vehicle to a nearby hospital for treatment. The woman is expected to recover.

Officers are looking for a 25-year-old man in connection to the crime.

A woman drove herself to the hospital after being stabbed by her boyfriend in a domestic dispute. It happened at around 2:30 a.m. in the 1500 block of north Pershing, just northwest of 13th and Oliver.

Sgt. Scott Brunow says the 24-year-old woman was stabbed in the stomach, the right thigh, and the waistline. Her cell phone was also stolen. She then drove herself to Wesley Medical Center, where she was admitted in serious condition.

Wichita police are looking for a 25-year-old man in connection to the stabbing, who, Brunow says, is known to police.

No names have been released.
