Man Pleads Guilty To Asking Friend To Rob Bank

Tuesday, May 15, 2012

A Kansas man who worked at a bank has pleaded guilty to asking a friend to rob the business.

Landon Hedsrom, 19, of Belleville, pleaded guilty to one count of solicitation to commit bank robbery. He admitted he was working at a branch of Citizens National Bank in Concordia, when he urged a friend to rob the bank.

Authorities said Hedstrom planned to be scared during the incident, taking another employee aside before the alarm could be set off. He also drew a map of the bank indicating where the cash would be located.

The friend did not rob the bank, but rather turned the information over to law enforcement authorities.

Sentencing is set for Aug. 13. He faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison and a fine up to $125,000.
