Motorcycle Rider Injured In South Wichita Crash

A motorcycle rider is recovering from head injuries and a broken leg after an accident in South Wichita.

Crews were called to the scene near 47th St. South and Knight St. around 11 a.m. Tuesday. They arrived to find the motorcycle rider had been thrown off his bike.

Sgt. Terry Linton, Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office, said a 54-year-old man was driving east on 47th St., when his bike left the roadway and drove into grass.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with potentially serious injuries.

No other vehicles were involved. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

A motorcycle rider has been taken to the hospital with serious injuries after an accident in south Wichita.

It happened near 47th St. South and West St. just before 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Details of the accident remain under investigation, but one man was transported with a broken leg. It is unclear at this time whether any other vehicles were involved in the accident.
