A toddler walking through a pasture was killed by a truck in Labette County.
Just before 7:00 p.m. Saturday, a GMC pickup was driving through a pasture off of Victory Road, about one mile southwest of Oswego.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says a 2-year-old boy, Clayton James of Labette City, was walking in the pasture for unknown reasons. The driver of the pickup, 30-year-old Christy Dunnic of Oswego, was unable to see the boy, and the truck ran him over.
The boy was taken to Freeman Hospital and was pronounced dead a short time later.
Dunnic was not injured.
The Kansas Highway Patrol and Labette County Sheriff’s office are investigating. No other information has been released.
