A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a standoff in Southeast Wichita.

At around 9:00 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 11100 block of east Funston, just southwest of Harry and Greenwich.

A family of five, including Hai and Lily Nyguen and their three young daughters, heard gunshots followed by bullets entering their home. "My husband say 'gun, gun, gun'", said Lily Nyguen. " I took my daughter and go to the bedroom and lay down floor and call the police"

They were not injured and called 911.

At the same time, a person living on East Longlake called 911 after hearing shots and seeing flashes from the home next door.

Police made contact with the man at the home. He went outside and yelled at the officers before barricading himself inside the home.

Officers convinced the man to surrender after four hours. Police recovered a handgun and several rifles.

Christopher Etazazi was booked for criminal discharge of a firearm and obstruction.

The standoff in southeast Wichita has ended peacefully. No one was hurt and the suspect is in custody.
